Presidente Bianchetti

Mario Emanuele Bianchetti was born in Edolo on the 9th. of October 1933 , today he lives in Verona . He is a vascular surgeon and president of Fondazione Incontri di Madruzzo. His time is spent between the “scaligera” city ( Verona ) the new home of the foundation, and Milan, his place of work - Ospedale Policlinico – Istituto Clinico Scientifico.

His Professional vocation started after graduating from the Cattolica University of Milan . He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business. In the 1960’s he specialized in Business Economics at the Bocconi University where he became a professor. He was teaching there for over five years.

His professional career began in Edison during his university studies in 1954. Then he moved on to become manager of Edisonvolta and Enel , leaving them in 1970. This period was followed by a very bright and fast moving career as general manager and managing director of many international industrial companies . This earned him his nickname “Enterprise Healer” for his ability to put back on the right track many financial troubled firms.

He has many outstanding awards for his achievements in the public and private sector , including one from The President of the National Industrialists’ Association (1972): The Engineer Lombardi. As a Captain of the Alpine Parachutes he received a silver medal of merit in 1955 . In 1976 The President of the Italian Republic Giovanni Leone on recommendation by the President of the Council of Ministers , Aldo Moro gave him the honour of Knight of the Italian Republic.

Following his dream to become a medical doctor in 1983 at the age of 50 he enrolled to the Medicine Faculty in Milan , obtaining his degree in 1989 . His thesis pertain to "Prevention in cerebrovascular insufficiency".

Since 1985 he has held the post of President of the Fondazione Incontri di Madruzzo a non profit organization in the National and European Public Health field. The Foundation has an active role in organizing scientific meetings with the aim to rearrange the Public Health System and fulfilling many humanitarian projects which sustain the Health System in Italy and in developing countries.
