| - Mario Emanuele Bianchetti, born in Edolo, Brescia, Italy on 9 October, 1933, captain of the Alpine Parachute Unit of the Italian army, was decorated with the Silver Medal for military merit.
- He obtained a Degree in Economics and Commerce from Milan, and successively a Degree in Statistics before specialising in Corporate Economics at Bocconi University, Milan, where he worked as a lecturer for over five years.
- His professional career began in 1954 (while still a student) when he was hired by Edison. Promoted to managerial level, he moved to the electricity company Edisonvolta and later to the Italian National Energy Board, which he left in 1970
- From 1970 - 1985 he held the positions of Director General and Chairman of numerous industrial companies of international dimensions and importance (e.g. Smalterie Metallurgiche Venete S.p.A. (Krupp) and sister companies in Switzerland, Germany and Austria; Impresa Zanussi S.p.A.; Zarpa S.p.A.; Metalpredil S.p.A.; Industrie Papa and sister companies in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore; SO.GE.MA. S.p.A.; Marzari S.p.A.)
- Known as "The Company Doctor" he was called to lead various companies in difficulty in order to restore them to "good health".
- He has received recognition from many quarters of his industrial and social activities, including that of the President of the National Association of Italian Industrialists, in 1972.
-A member of numerous Study Commissions, he took part in the Restricted Committee for the Setting-up of the Lombardy Region which elected its first President.
- He has published papers on economics related subjects.
- In 1976 the President of the Italian Republic, upon recommendation by the Prime Minister and the Minister for Industry, conferred on him the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
- Today he is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of two companies operating in the chemicals sector (Megar s.a.s. and GMB s.a.s.) which deal in exclusive products of an ecologically advanced nature (e.g. protective anti-corrosion paint; filtering earths for purifying vegetable oils; release agents for the rubber industry, etc).
- A deep knowledge of the politico-economic realities of many countries built-up during extensive stays abroad, in South-East Asia, the U.S.A. and the ex-USSR has enabled him to cultivate important international relations in the worlds of economics and finance.
- In 1982 he enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at Milan University, from which he graduated in 1988 with a thesis on Prevention in Cerebrovascular Insufficiency, obtaining marks of 108/110. He is a practising medical practitioner in vascular surgery in Milan.
- He is President of the "Fondazione Incontri di Madruzzo", a non-profit foundation operating in the field of Public Health on both national and European level. The Foundation promotes high level scientific and technical meetings aimed at the reorganisation of the Health Service. The "Fondazione Incontri di Madruzzo" lends organisational support in Italy to the World Health Organisation, with which it is in close contact. |
